    About us

The Pfeffersäcke have existed since 1982 and are a senior group that views the world and themselves with a wink. The Pfeffersäcke see themselves as part of the Grauer Reiter, but also accept non-members of the association. The expectation, however, is that Pfeffersäcke are at least e.V. members.

Anyone may apply to join. The Pfeffersäcke decide on acceptance of the application after internal deliberation. Most Pfeffersäcke remain additionally active in their home tribes and groups.

The distinguishing mark of the Pfeffersäcke is red-and-black striped cuffs, where the number and width of the stripes indicate the order of admission.

The Pfeffersäcke aim to meet in full on the last weekend of June each year for the Pfeffersacktreffen, hosted each year by a different member. Further activities take place in small groups (e.g., an annual trip to the Leitihütte) or within the – for most still existing – membership in their home tribes and groups.
